  • ACBF Unveils ELG-PFM Program at AfDB Annual Meetings
1 August, 2024

ACBF launched the “Enhancing Leadership and Governance in Public Financial Management (ELG-PFM) in Africa” program on 31 May 2024, during the African Development Bank (AfDB) Annual Meetings in Nairobi, Kenya. In partnership with six pilot countries (Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, and Zimbabwe), this collaborative initiative aims to strengthen public financial management (PFM) across the continent. The program focuses on empowering senior officials within African PFM systems. Through leadership skills development and the implementation of sound governance practices, it seeks to foster effective PFM policy reforms in targeted countries. Participants included Ministers of Economy and Finance from participating countries, representatives from PFM institutions, development partners, civil society organizations, and think tanks. This high-level engagement signifies the program's potential for driving significant progress in African PFM systems.
